edit/midterm

I edited my couch potato- his drool now runs and cheeks and stomach move- though I think its not noticeable enough.
the puppet tool was easy enough to learn.
I hope to continue with this character in my midterm-
EL: The life of a couch potato and a look into his psychology as he tries to break away from his sedentary life.

I researched couch potatoes and what leads people to sedentary lifestyles.  in childhood being excluded will cause the child to be more sedentary. Depression also leads to this

my character-Henry an over weight couch potato
ever since childhood henry was always excluded, but Henry* found solace through his television. The characters were always there for him the more time spent by himself the more Henry questioned the need to leave. He could work from home, socialize from home, even have food delivered. Everything is easier when you dont have to deal with the outside world and their view of you, the tv and the internet dont judge. but is this really a life.  Henry starts to question his life and struggles to break away from his habits.

Goal- show life and cause of sedentary lifestyle and a struggle to change this

Midterm Idea

So I was thinking of doing a loop of the growth of a flower. I got an idea to change petals into rain drops and i really want to play on that idea. or maybe rain rolling off the flower carrying a seed..

I wanted to go with a sketch grunge feel, a couch potato spending his days and nights
zoned in front of the tv.

I really enjoyed playing with the blending modes and seeing how they each effected each other. I want to work with mattes more to get even more familiar with them (maybe in my next project).

Fish Write up

I had fun with this last assignment. I broke away from the computer and created items and scanned them in. My loop isnt as seamless as id like it to be, but its the best that i could get it as of know.
It took a while to get my mask to work right, working out the layers and type of mask.

Epic Cone Battle -intro

using mask and replacement I created an intro to my cone battle. The characters are from my animation class, I felt that after effects would be a good program to animate them in.
I hope to go further with these characters and unveil their story.
I had trouble with the mask- it didn't work on creating a shadow/curtain for the cones (I was hoping I'd be able to use it for that) but i used it to fade in the sides of the battle instead.

so I edited my monster project. I left the bottom of the ear stationary, gave his mouth an inside, left his eye stationary, edited the front layer, and changed his walk cycle.
I still find something off with the cycle, but I think its a definite improvement.
